Wording questions
How long can an inscription be?
Roughly 20β40 characters a line and two to four lines. Past that the type has to shrink and the plate stops being readable at armβs length, which is the only distance that matters.
What order do the elements go in?
Occasion or organisation, then the recipient largest, then the award title, then the date. Recipients read their own name first; everything else is context around it.
Can we use a logo instead of the top line?
Yes. Vector artwork (EPS, AI, PDF or SVG) engraves cleanest; a high-resolution PNG or JPEG works for most jobs. We confirm how it will sit on your proof.
What if a name is spelled wrong?
That is what the proof is for β we email a digital proof for sign-off before anything is engraved, and changes at that point are free. After engraving, a plate has to be re-run.
Do you keep our wording for next year?
For perpetual and honour-board awards, yes β the artwork and the winner history stay on file so every new plate matches the last.
